When You Arrive

The Family Partnership Center campus includes two buildings, including the Family Partnership Center and Emilie’s Place. The Family Partnership Center building features multiple entrances, so please identify which parking lot and entrance you need before arriving. By Bus: Dial-A-Ride

Dutchess County’s curb-to-curb Dial-A-Ride service is available to City of Poughkeepsie residents, Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m.–4:15 p.m. Same-day reservations within the city are available on a space-available basis for $7.00. Call 845-473-8424 to reserve.

By Rideshare: Uber and Lyft

Uber and Lyft both serve Poughkeepsie. Enter 29 North Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 as your destination.

Parking

Main Lot

Located on North Hamilton Street, across the street from the building and circular driveway. This is the primary lot for most visitors.

Garden Parking Lot

Located through the circular driveway and along the southern side of the building. Reserved for visitors with disabilities and those with accessibility needs. This lot provides the closest access to the Garden Entrance and is ADA-compliant. See Accessibility below.

Crannell Street Lot

Located across the arterial on South Hamilton Street and Crannell Street. Use this lot only when the Main Lot is full. Please use the crosswalk when traveling between this lot and the building. This is a City of Poughkeepsie PAID parking lot.

Family Partnership Center Entrances

Main Entrance

Located on North Hamilton Street, facing the Main Lot. Enter through the front doors and take the stairs or elevator to the first floor, where you'll find the reception desk and digital directory screen. The reception desk is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Garden Entrance

Located in the Garden Parking Lot on the eastern side of the building. This entrance is step-free and ADA-accessible, and is the recommended entrance for visitors with mobility needs. To access the reception desk, navigate to the ground floor elevator and ride up to the first floor.

Barbara Jeter-Jackson Gym

The Gym has two entrances, one on the interior of the building and one on North Clinton Street. Please check with event or program organizers to navigate to the correct entrance.

Dutchess Outreach Lunch Box

The Dutchess Outreach Lunch Box entrance can be accessed from the Garden Parking Lot, on the eastern wing of the main building. If you are visiting Dutchess Outreach, please proceed directly to that entrance, following the signs on the exterior walls.


Accessibility

Family Partnership Center is committed to ensuring that all visitors, regardless of ability, can access our campus, buildings, and services. We strive to meet and exceed the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and all applicable federal, state, and local accessibility standards.

Parking

Accessible parking spaces are available in the Garden Lot, located adjacent to the Garden Entrance of the main building. These spaces are reserved for visitors displaying a valid disability parking permit (placard or plate). Additional accessible spaces may be available in the Main Lot. All accessible spaces are clearly marked and located on level ground with access aisles compliant with ADA standards.

Building Access

The Garden Entrance provides step-free, ground-level access into the main building and is the primary accessible entrance. Elevator service is available inside the Main Entrance for visitors who cannot use the stairs to reach the main lobby and upper floors. All client restrooms on campus include ADA-compliant accessible stalls. Hallways and common areas throughout the building meet ADA width and clearance requirements.

Communication and Language Access

The digital directory in the main lobby displays partner suite and floor information in a clear, easy-to-read format. Visitors who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or have communication needs are encouraged to contact their specific partner organization in advance to arrange accommodations, including sign language interpretation where required under the ADA. Language assistance may be available through individual partner organizations — contact the organization you are visiting for details.

Service Animals

Service animals, as defined under the ADA, are welcome throughout the Family Partnership Center campus and in all buildings. Emotional support animals and pets are not covered under the ADA service animal policy.


Safety & Security

Family Partnership Center maintains on-site security to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors, clients, staff, and partner organization employees. Security personnel are on site from 7 AM to 9 PM.

All visitors are welcome and should feel safe on campus. If you have a concern or feel unsafe at any time, please notify security or the reception desk immediately.

Visitor’s Statement of Rights

At the Family Partnership Center, we believe in dignity, community, and shared responsibility. Every visitor deserves to feel welcomed, safe, and respected. When you step through our doors, you have the right to:

  • Safety – You have the right to feel physically and emotionally safe during your visit.
  • Respect – You have the right to be treated with kindness, dignity, and without judgment.
  • Health & Well-Being – You have the right to access a clean, smoke-free, and substance-free environment.
  • Peaceful Environment – You have the right to enjoy the space without exposure to violence, threats, or disruptive behavior.
  • Participation – You have the right to engage in public events, services, and programs available through our partner agencies.

To maintain a safe and respectful space for everyone, we ask all visitors to follow these shared expectations:

  • Please do not engage in verbal or physical threats or bring weapons onto the property.
  • Alcohol, drugs, or similar substances are not allowed on-site.
  • Smoking is permitted only in designated areas.
  • Refrain from using offensive or profane language and from engaging in inappropriate public behavior.
  • Help keep our building clean by using trash and cigarette receptacles.
  • Remain on-site only when attending programs, receiving services, or participating in open public events.
  • Clients receiving services may obtain a bathroom code from the agency assisting them.
