Advocates are available 24-7 to offer information and support to individuals who have been impacted by violence or community members seeking information about available resources. The Rape Crisis & Crime Victims hotline is also the Dutchess County hotline for human trafficking victims.

You Have the Rights to Safety and Justice

If you’ve been hurt, threatened, or made to feel unsafe, we understand your experience and we believe you. Whether you need information and resources or are seeking support during or after a crisis, our advocates are here to listen and guide you towards safety and healing. When you're ready, we're here for you.

All services are free, accessible, and confidential. The Center for Victim Safety and Support serves people of all racial/cultural backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations (lesbian, gay, bisexual, heterosexual), gender identities (men, women, transgender people), abilities, citizenship status, and ages.

What to Expect

Advocacy and
Accompaniment

Our advocates are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your calls and ensure your safety during and after a crisis. We will be by your side throughout the process, including in court, around police, at hospitals, and with social services.

Continued Support

We offer up to three months of free counseling and support groups to help you process your experience, develop healthy coping strategies, and create plans to stay safe. We also provide case management for anyone at high risk of experiencing domestic violence.

Coordinated Services

We can connect you with resources provided by allied organizations and work closely with local professionals and law enforcement to establish protocols to support your safety.

Outreach and
Education

Members of our team provide outreach and education in Dutchess County to spread awareness of victims’ rights and services relating to domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. We also provide crisis response training for community members and first responders.

Community Response Training

Sexual Assault Response Team

The Sexual Assault Response Team provides training on and coordination of local services for survivors of sexual assault.

Universal Response to Domestic Violence

The Universal Response to Domestic Violence project works to improve safety by providing education and training on identifying high-risk cases and strengthening victims’ rights.
