Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit organization that provides reproductive health care in the United States and globally. Margert Sanger founded and opened the first birth control clinic in the United States in 1916.  The organization directly provides a variety of reproductive health services and sexual education, contributes to research in reproductive technology and advocates for the protection and expansion of reproductive rights.
